I really want to thank you for taking the time to read this silly report I put together every Monday night after work. It’s not always easy, but it’s so rewarding to be apart of your Tuesday, and to hopefully have a positive impact on our local courses. Thank you!
Last week I had a dozen of you ask me about courses hiring in NCC, so it only made sense to share all the available positions around the county this week.
Plus, I have a loaded list of #Course-Updates for your reading, and a shoutout to a Rock Manor local who really deserves it this week.
August and September are about to be some very fun months of golf, I can already tell.

NCC Golf Job Board 📌
We reached out to the courses across New Castle County, and it turns out there are a bunch of open jobs right now, from behind the bar to out on the grounds.
If you've ever thought about working in golf, or you know someone who'd be perfect for it, now’s a great time to inquire.
Here’s whats on the job market right now:
White Clay Creek CC is the busiest of the bunch. They're looking for bartenders, part/full time experienced beverage cart staff, starters and marshals, pro shop attendants, and bag room / outside operations team members. Apply by emailing the right contact your updated CV:

Delcastle is hiring for outside help right now, specifically maintenance, grounds, and starter crew. Two positions are open, and you can apply directly online. [Maintenance Staff] [Starter]

A few things worth knowing if you're thinking about it:
Golf course work means weekends and holidays, that's the nature of it. But a lot of these roles are flexible, they put you around the game, and most come with perks like playing privileges. Good fit for a student, a retiree who wants to stay close to the course, or anyone who'd rather spend a shift outside than behind a desk.

↗️ 🏆 Rock Manor's Kie Shaw is heading to the Delaware Open. The amateur fired a 4-under 68 to take medalist honors in 61st Delaware Open Qualifying at Odessa National, topping a field where the cut fell at 74. He's one of 24 players who punched their ticket to Dupont Country Club.
↗️ ⛳ The Delaware Open lands at DuPont August 25-26. The 61st Championship is a 54-hole individual stroke play event over two days. Everyone plays 18 on Day One, then the low 36 and ties advance to play the final two rounds on Day Two. Worth marking your calendar if you want to watch top Delaware golf up close.
↗️ 🧒 Back Creek's Junior Camp is coming in August. Four days, August 10-13, open to kids ages 6 to 14. $200 for the week. A solid way to keep a young golfer swinging before school starts back up.
↗️ 🏆 Back Creek Club Championship is set for August 29. Call the pro shop to enter. Rumor has it the winner gets dinner Ron Jaworski. (jk)
↗️ 🌙 Delcastle's August Night Golf is open for sign-ups. This one sells out, so don't sit on it. Get your group in while there's room.
↗️ 🏆 Ed Oliver's 2026 Club Championship is announced. Mark August 29. Keep an eye on our Facebook to catch when sign ups go live.
↗️ 🛻 Something's coming to Garrisons Lake. Word is new golf carts are on the way. You didn't hear it from us. 😉
↗️ 🌳 Frog Hollow's re-rating is official. GAP finished re-rating the course, great timing right after the 17th got reshaped. The new rating posts for next season.
↗️ 🏌️♀️ Rock Manor's August Women's Meet & Greet. August 5th, 5 to 8pm. Whether you're a regular or just getting into the game, it's a low-pressure way to play and meet other women who golf in the county.
↗️ 🎸 Live music at Back Creek. Dub Glenn plays July 31st, 7-9pm. Good reason to hang around after your round.
