We're throwing our very first NCC Golf Report event, and you as a loyal reader get the early invite before it goes public.

You're getting the first word on this, before we announce it anywhere else: NCC Golf Report is hosting its first-ever mini-golf tournament, and it's happening under the lights!

Friday, September 25th, we're taking over Riverwalk Mini Golf on the Wilmington Riverfront for a night of competition and bragging rights. This is the first event we've ever thrown, and we wanted you, the people who actually read this thing every Tuesday, to hear about it first.

Official announcement goes public later this week, but you get early access to register for the event. Here’s the breakdown:

🌙 Friday, September 25th from 6 to 9 PM - Under the lights!

⛳ One round, 18 holes, stroke play. No flights, no handicaps, low score wins. BYOP (bring your own putter).

🍦 Newsletter subscribers (you) get a discounted entry fee plus a complimentary ice cream or drink, just for being part of the list.

🏆 Big prizes on the line. We'll announce those soon, and trust me, they're worth showing up for.

🔞 Must be 18 and older to play.

There will be only 50 spots to start. We may open more if it fills, but the reader waitlist gets first crack, and once these go, they go. We chose Mini golf as our first tournament because we believe it’s the great equalizer.

Your single-digit handicap means nothing when there's a windmill involved.

Last Poll Result: A whopping 72% of you said you’re most excited about the cooler weather when it comes to Fall golf, and 25% said they’re most excited about cheaper rates.

The tournament sold out, but the best part is open to everyone: First Tee Delaware's Mayor's Cup silent auction and 50/50 raffle are live online right now, and anyone can bid.

↗️ 🐔 Delaware's college golfers open their fall seasons. The UD women tee off today at the Penn State Invitational, and the men start Saturday, September 12, against Bryan National Collegiate. Follow the men's and women's scoring to track the local kids.

↗️ 🍺 St. Anne's Fairway Divot Filling Party is this Friday. Meet at the clubhouse Friday, September 11 at 5pm, help repair fairways and tee boxes, and they'll hand you free beer and seltzer for the effort.

↗️ 🧒 Junior Golf is back at Birdie's. A clinic for all ages and skill levels, begins October 6, every Tuesday 5:30 to 6:30pm. Four sessions, $60 sign-up. Spots limited, call or stop by the front desk.

↗️ 🏌️‍♀️ Delaware is building high school girls golf, and they need players. The Delaware Women's Golf Association launched a 2026 fall pilot league, with a bigger vision: a DIAA development league in 2027 and girls golf as its own standalone high school sport by 2028 (it's co-ed only now). For months we’ve built a community for NCC golfers to keep up to date with local golf news. Now we get to actually stand on the same turf, talk trash over a two-foot putt, and put faces to the names.

The mini golf tournament will genuinely be a fun time and I hope you consider signing up.

And it's under the lights on the Riverfront with ice cream in hand. Try not having a good time with those conditions.

This is the first time we get to actually gather in person, and I wanted the door as wide open as possible. Mini golf does that. Bring someone who "doesn't really golf." They'll fit right in.
